Jay Toole, Chairman, Board of Advisors
Jay Toole has over 35 years' experience in health care, holding key executive
positions in consulting, vendor and provider organizations. Prior to joining
Dearborn Advisors, Mr. Toole served as a Partner in the healthcare consulting
division of two national CPA firms (Ernst & Young, LLP & Arthur Andersen
& Co), and an Executive Vice-President with a Healthcare Software Firm
(Gerber Alley).

Rick Mager, President and Co-Founder
Rick Mager has over 30 years' experience in health care, holding key executive
positions in consulting, vendor, provider and teaching organizations.
Mr. Mager has developed and delivered services around clinical systems
value proposition, process design and clinician usage of technology.
Prior to co-founding Dearborn Advisors, Mr. Mager served as a Senior
Vice President with a Healthcare Information Technology vendor (Eclipsys),
a Partner in the healthcare consulting division of a national CPA firm
(Ernst & Young, LLP), an Executive Vice President for a Healthcare
Information Technology firm (The Kennedy Group), and a Director of Management
Engineering in an academic medical center (Medical College of Virginia).
His clients have included academic medical centers, multi facility/multi
regional Integrated Delivery Networks, large physician group practices,
and information system vendors. He also was on faculty and conducted health
care research at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Mager earned a M.A. in Health Systems Management Engineering and a B.A. in
Industrial Engineering.

Barb Crowell, Executive
Vice President and Co-Founder
Barb Crowell has over 10 years of experience in healthcare information
technology strategic planning and assessment, operations analysis, systems
design and implementation; business process redesign; and benefits assessment.
Ms. Crowell led the development of Dearborn’s Clinician Adoption Methodology
(CAM©).
Prior to co-founding Dearborn Advisors, Ms. Crowell served as the Acting
Director, Value Assessment and Director of Operations, Professional Services,
in a publicly traded healthcare information technology vendor (Eclipsys
Corporation) and a Manager in the healthcare consulting division of a
national CPA firm (Ernst & Young, LLP). Her clients have included
multi facility/multi regional Integrated Delivery Networks (IDN), community
hospitals, and physician group practices.
Ms. Crowell earned a M.S. is Industrial & Management Engineering and
a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering.

Bruce Bowers, Senior Vice President
Bruce Bowers has 26 years’ experience in information technology (I/T) strategic planning; system selection and design; benefits modeling and realization; and, IT organization management and design.
Prior to joining Dearborn Advisors, Mr. Bowers served as a Practice Director in a publicly traded Healthcare Information Technology Consulting firm (First Consulting Group), and as the CIO and in other IT management positions in a large midwestern medical center (Hurley Medical Center).
Mr. Bowers earned a M.B.A. specializing in General Management and a B.A. in Chemistry and Computational Mathematics.

John Brill, M.D., Vice President and Chief Medical Officer
Dr. John H. Brill has over 20 years of clinical experience. Dr. Brill maintains a part-time clinical practice in general internal medicine at Rush University Medical Center and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Rush Medical College. He speaks around the country on medical informatics topics. Dr. Brill has authored numerous publications on CPOE and physician adoption of clinical information systems.
Prior to his role as Dearborn's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Brill served as Chief Medical Information Officer, Associate Vice President, and Associate CIO at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago; as Director of the Section of Medical Informatics and Patient Safety Research, Department of Internal Medicine at Rush Medical College; and as a part-time Physician Advisor to Dearborn.
Dr. Brill earned a B.S. in Biology-Chemistry from Manchester College, an M.D. from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center (formerly Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center).

Reese Gomez, Senior Vice President
Reese Gomez has over 20 years of health care information technology and operations experience in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. At Dearborn Advisors, Mr. Gomez leads distribution and delivery of Dearborn offerings within the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southwest portions of the United States.
Prior to joining Dearborn Advisors, Mr. Gomez was a key leader in building a $100 million service business at a publicly traded Healthcare Information Technology Software Company (Eclipsys Corporation) in the areas of clinical adoption, clinical transformation, software implementation and system integration. As an Eclipsys Vice President, Mr. Gomez positioned and had significant involvement in over 100 projects ranging in size from $100K to $20MM in both the inpatient and ambulatory settings. Prior to Eclipsys, Mr. Gomez was focused on Physician Practice solutions where he led large service business segments for IDX and Amicore (a Pfizer, Microsoft and IBM joint venture). Mr. Gomez also held senior management positions at SMS (now Siemens) and Ernst and Young healthcare consulting (now part of Accenture).
Mr. Gomez earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

Tom Haslett, Vice President
Tom Haslett has over 30 years of experience in the health care information technology industry with an emphasis on Program and Project Management, Methodology development and deployment, staff training and large project delivery management .
Prior to joining Dearborn Advisors, Mr. Haslett spent 25 years with the health care consulting division of a national health care consulting firm (Ernst & Young, Capgemini and Accenture). As a Senior Executive, he assisted many clients with a wide range of services including Information Technology planning, Benchmarking Assessments, Interim CIO services and large project implementation management. His clients have included large Integrated Delivery Systems, multi-hospital organizations and academic medical centers. He also managed the development and national rollout of a comprehensive methodology that integrated process redesign with vendor package implementation at Ernst & Young.
Mr. Haslett earned a B.S. from Loyola University in Chicago.

Stan Jaworski, Vice President
Stan Jaworski has over 25 years’ experience in healthcare information technology (I/T) planning and procurement; knowledge of the healthcare information systems vendor market place; implementation of large-scale information systems for hospital and ambulatory care organizations; physician adoption of clinical technologies; and, business process reengineering initiatives.
Prior to joining Dearborn Advisors, Mr. Jaworski served as a Regional Practice Director for a publicly traded Healthcare Information Technology Consulting Firm (CSC Consulting), a Senior Manager in the healthcare consulting division of a national CPA firm (Ernst & Young, LLP), a Vice President for a Healthcare Information Technology firm (The Kennedy Group), and President for a healthcare consulting firm (Intelligent Systems Decisions, Inc). His clients include community hospitals, academic medical centers, multi-hospital health systems, health plans, large physician groups and integrated delivery networks (IDNs).
Mr. Jaworski earned a M.B.A., Healthcare Finance and a B.A. in Biology and Economics.

Susan Kruzan, Vice President
Susan Kruzan has 25 years of experience in the health care industry holding key positions in both the information technology (I/T) and financial accounting areas with an emphasis on IT strategic planning, system selections and procurement, benefits modeling, realization and total cost of ownership analysis, implementation design and planning, project management, and Merger & Acquisition IT planning and integration.
Prior to joining Dearborn Advisors, Ms. Kruzan served as Vice President and CIO for a $2.9B For-Profit Health care Provider chain of hospitals with 4,600 combined licensed beds (Vanguard Health Systems, Inc.), a Senior Manager in the healthcare consulting division of a national CPA firm (Ernst & Young, LLP), IT Manager of financial applications for a midwest group of hospitals (Chicago Osteopathic Health Systems), and various financial accounting and managed care roles at two midwest provider organizations (St. Anthony Medical Centers, Inc. and Methodist Hospitals, Inc.) Her experience includes work with community hospitals, academic medical centers, multi-hospital health systems (both for-profit and not-for-profit), health plans, large physician groups and integrated delivery networks (IDNs).
Ms. Kruzan earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from Purdue University and passed the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination, May 1992.

Anthony Stefanis, Vice President
Anthony Stefanis has over 35 years’ experience in information technology and healthcare holding executive positions in vendor organizations.
Prior to joining Dearborn Advisors, Mr. Stefanis served as President, Chief Operating Officer and on Board of Directors at a Healthcare Information Technology vendor (CareMedic Systems, Inc.), a Senior Vice President with a Healthcare Information Technology vendor (Eclipsys), a Corporate Senior Vice President for an Information Technology vendor (Equifax, Inc.), and in senior executive positions for an Information Technology vendor (IBM Corporation).
Mr. Stefanis earned a M.B.A. in International Senior Management Program and a B.E.E. in Electrical Engineering.

Rob Tashiro, Vice President
Rob Tashiro has over 23 years of experience in the healthcare information technology industry specializing in strategic planning, large-scale information systems implementations for hospital and ambulatory care organizations, healthcare software product development and support, and education software development for healthcare and life sciences.
Prior to joining Dearborn Advisors, Mr. Tashiro served as President and Chief Operating Officer for a publicly traded Healthcare Information Management Consulting Firm (ACS/Superior), co-founder of a healthcare consulting firm (Encore Excellence) that specialized in executive management services, and Director of Applications for an education solutions software firm. His clients include multi-hospital health systems, community hospitals, academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks and global publishing organizations.
Mr. Tashiro earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University.
